Our Services

For over 30 years, Kids’ Care Pediatrics has been providing Putnam County parents peace of mind. Peace of mind that their children are in good hands when it comes to their healthcare.

We are a full service pediatric medical group practice. Our providers are specialists when it comes to children’s medical health needs. We consider ourselves a gateway to good health for your child.

As your child ages, there will be a variety of services available, recommended or required.

Periodic Well Baby Exams (Newborn-2 years):

Kids’ Care Pediatrics follows the American Academy of Pediatrics recommended schedule of well baby visits. Our healthcare providers should periodically examine your baby at the following ages:

  • Newborn
  • 1 month
  • 2 months
  • 4 months
  • 6 months
  • 9 months
  • 12 months
  • 15 months
  • 18 months
  • 24 months

During these exams your baby’s height, weight, temperature, etc., will be measured and documented in the baby’s electronic medical record. Your baby should also receive age-appropriate immunizations to protect him/her from diseases such as Hepatitis B, Polio, Measles, Mumps, Rubella and others. Questions you have regarding the care of your baby will also be addressed and anticipatory guidance will be offered.

Annual Well Child Exams (3 years-20 years):

In order to provide quality care for your children and teenagers, we need to see them for regular checkups at times when they are not acutely ill. This also gives us an opportunity to get better acquainted with them. In addition to a thorough physical exam, we discuss developmental and behavioral issues, and according to age, will perform blood, urine, hearing and vision screens. This is also the time to immunize them against certain infectious diseases. The Annual Well Child Exam provides a chance to review their growth, reflect on past problems and anticipate future health needs. We are also available to discuss parenting issues.

School/Sports/Cheerleader/Camp Physicals:

Often we are asked to perform physicals for our established patients so that they can attend school, participate in sports, be a cheerleader or go to summer camp. Another benefit of keeping up-to-date with your child’s Annual Well Child Exams is that, most of the time, those organizations requiring the physicals will accept the data from the current year’s Annual Exam. That means your child may not need an appointment for this kind of physical and our healthcare providers will complete his/her physical form free of charge.

Preparticipation Physical Evaluation Form

Preoperative (Pre-Op) Physicals:

Our providers regularly perform pre-op physicals on our patients. This type of physical is performed to insure that the patient is healthy enough to undergo a surgical procedure that has been recommended by a specialist. The appointment usually must be completed within 30 days of the procedure/surgical date.

Illness Visits:

We are also available for those stressful times when your children are sick. Our healthcare providers are skilled at diagnosing and treating children’s illnesses such as ear infections, respiratory illnesses, strep throat, urinary tract infections, head and abdomen pain, etc. Our Referral Specialist will facilitate your sub specialist visit if our providers determine the need for further care.

Referrals:

Our Providers may find it necessary to refer your child to a specialist. These specialists help us to give your child the best care for a variety of reasons, including illnesses that are difficult to manage or diagnose, chronic illnesses such as asthma and ear infections, sports injuries, fractures, etc.

There are several specialists available locally to assist with many of these issues. We are also very fortunate to have two outstanding pediatric clinics, Nemours in Jacksonville and Shands in Gainesville, each within one hour of our office.

Immunizations:

Certain diseases exist that may cause a child pain, suffering and sometimes even death. Over time, scientists have developed vaccines (special medicines) which protect people from contracting many of these diseases. You have probably heard of Polio, Measles and Hepatitis…there are many others.

Kids’ Care Pediatrics providers offer protection against many of these diseases by immunizing (vaccinating) children. We follow the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) guidelines regarding the delivery of Immunizations.
